Introduction: Academic faculty members need to emphasize ethical principles in order to improve HIGHER EDUCATION, with the understanding of this importance, the current research was conducted with the aim of designing the ethical model of academic faculty members in Iran's HIGHER EDUCATION. Material & Methods: This research is a type of qualitative study that uses foundational data theory. The participants, including experts and faculty members of the country's public universities, who were responsible for the promotion of academic members, were selected as key informants through a targeted sampling method of 45 people. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The reliability and validity of the data were obtained from the two methods of reviewing the participants and recoding by experts. Data were analyzed by open, central and selective coding. Results: The results showed that the moral model of faculty members in Iran's HIGHER EDUCATION is explained in 10 main categories and 27 subcategories. Major and core categories in the form of 6 dimensions of causal conditions including (individual factors, organizational factors), core (cultural-EDUCATIONal, EDUCATIONal ethics, research ethics, scientific-executive), background conditions (HIGHER EDUCATION policies, moral activism), intervening conditions (environmental factors), strategies (micro level-university, macro level-HIGHER EDUCATION) and consequences (individual and organizational) were elevated to a HIGHER abstract level and finally the research paradigm model was presented. Conclusion: The regulations for the promotion of academic staff members in Iran require a detailed revision of the content with an ethical and qualitative approach in order to make the indicators of the promotion regulations efficient and effective.

Abstract:

There is an over whelming social demand for HIGHER EDUCATION in Iran. despite its rapid expansion after the Islamic Revolution(1979), and a rate of growth of capacity of HIGHER EDUCATION system, the current system is not yet responsive to the tremendous demand. Major strategies that led to the aforementioned results were encouraging private sector to invest in HIGHER EDUCATION and utilization of alternative modes such as distance and corresspondence EDUCATION. Country"s development in cultural, scientific and economic aspects is deemed impossible withot further expansion of HIGHER EDUCATION. Therefore, "expansion of ACCESS to HIGHER EDUCATION" has become the focus of attention in a national scale project which serves as an integral part of a larger project scheme having "scientific and technological development" as it"s long term end-in-view. The impetus for this particalar project is generated not only by the current imbalance between supply and demand in this area, but is further intensified by realizing that the social demand will increase and the gap will be widened in the future. In other words, continuation of current trends and regularities in the realm of HIGHER EDUCATION will lead to grave concerns and consequences and should, therefore, be treated as a delicate and critical national priority. A thorough investigation of current state of affairs along with identification of factors which has historically debilitated the expansion of HIGHER EDUCATION, is the first order of business in this project. Additionally, the strategies employed by countries with records of achievement in this respect will be studied to gain further insight, to establish benchmarks, and to devise appropriate strategies responsive to the socio-cultural-economic context of Iran.

Abstract:

EDUCATIONal planning is one of the most important ways to improve EDUCATIONal justice and EDUCATIONal justice is achieved when students have EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES to ACCESS EDUCATION. The present research studies the inEQUALity of HIGHER EDUCATION ACCESS OPPORTUNITIES. This study is a descriptive-analytical study. The research community is volunteers applying for admission to HIGHER EDUCATION in the townships of West Azarbayejan province during the years 2013-2016 which are studied by census method. The demographic data of this study has been acquired by statistical data from the recent census of population and housing (2016), information regarding EDUCATION (2016) as well as selected statistics from the national university entrance exam (2013-2016). In order to compare and rank the different regions benefit from HIGHER EDUCATION, indicators and formulas of EDUCATIONal planning such as the index of region selection, Gini coefficient, Lorenz curve, Gender InEQUALity Index, Cluster Analysis and Topsis ranking were used. The results of this study indicate that with Gini coefficient of 0. 08 and Dispersion coefficient of 0. 18 there is inEQUALity among the townships in terms of EQUAL ACCESS to HIGHER EDUCATION, In addition, there are gender inEQUALities between townships in ACCESS to HIGHER EDUCATION and the highest girls inEQUALity GPI=0. 68 is in the city of Piranshahr and the highest boys inEQUALity GPI=0. 135 is in the city of Salmas. Also, the results of ranking the townships of West Azerbaijan province in terms of ACCESS to HIGHER EDUCATION indicators showed that Khoy city with the 0. 999 topsis is ranked first, and Chalderan city with the 0. 143 topsis is ranked the last. The results indicate the need of areas that have less ACCESS to HIGHER EDUCATION, the planning and special attention of policy makers in this area to these inEQUALities.

Abstract:

After the 1979 Revolution, women in the field of public and HIGHER EDUCATION achieved substantial improvement. However, the employment statistics shows that their economic participation has not changed much compared to the pre-revolution era. While considering the mission of HIGHER EDUCATION, the objective of this article is trying to understand this gap and to seek ways of reducing it. The research method is based on the study of the gap through documents and interviews with educated or working women and professionals. The study concludes by stressing on the most important reasons of this disparity which could be: little transfer of skills when entering the labor market, weak professional identity among girls, as well as structural discrimination based on gender division of labor in society.

Abstract:

A B S T R A C TSatisfaction is considered one of the effective methods for evaluating the success of urban development plans and projects, and it is a tool to measure which type of housing and residential environment meets the needs, expectations, and aspirations of residents. This article aims to compare Amiriyeh and Pay-eToop neighborhoods in Bojnord city in terms of residents' satisfaction with living in these neighborhoods. Using a questionnaire, the data was obtained by a survey from 229 heads of sample households living in Bojnoord city. The residents' satisfaction is analyzed by 26 indicators set as home and neighborhood indices. The data is entered into SPSS software to run the One Sample T-Test and calculate statistical parameters. Also, the data is entered in Arc GIS in accordance with the UTM coordinates of the responder's locations to provide a GIS point layer to use zoning maps to be drawn. Residential satisfaction is lower than average and slightly HIGHER in Pay-eToop than in Amiriyeh. Also, the average score of the indicators that are set as home indices is lower than those for neighborhood indices. The zoning maps indicate that most parts of the neighborhoods show an average level of satisfaction with housing, and the maps of different indicators are not much different from each other. The role of physical indicators in low satisfaction is much more significant than social indicators. To improve satisfaction, paying attention to the neighborhood regeneration and improving the housing quality is necessaryExtended AbstractIntroductionSatisfactory housing is one of the most valuable aspects of life and one of the main elements of people's living standards. The HIGHER the level of satisfaction with a place, the more people will feel a sense of belonging to that place and feel more relaxed about being there. The feeling of satisfaction from a place can cause the positive effects of the place in the process of relationships in which the environment is being formed and carried out. On the one hand, satisfaction measurement is considered one of the effective methods of evaluating the success of urban programs and plans. On the other hand, it is a tool to measure which type of housing and residential environment currently meets its residents' needs, expectations, and aspirations. MethodologyThe residents' satisfaction is analyzed by 26 indicators set as home and neighborhood indices. A questionnaire gathers the data. Household heads in the studied neighborhoods (Amirieh and Pay-e Toop) are randomly selected as 229 sample people. The sample people evaluate the items in the questionnaire in a 5-range of the Likert scale from very high to very low. The qualified range was then changed to quantified scores from 5 to 1. Afterward, they were entered into SPSS software to run the One Sample T-Test and calculate other statistical parameters. The address of each respondent is included in the questionnaires, and based on the address, the UTM coordinates of the respondent are determined using Google Earth. Then, the information from the questionnaires is entered into the GIS according to the coordinates to provide a GIS point layer for drawing zoning maps. Results and discussionThe score of 2.75, which is the average figure of the evaluation scores for all the indicators of both neighborhoods, indicates that residential satisfaction is lower than the assumed average score (3). The average scores are 2.90 and 2.57 for Pay-e Toop and Amirieh neighborhoods, respectively, and they indicate that the residential satisfaction in the first is slightly HIGHER than the other. Pay-e Toop is the oldest neighborhood in Bojnoord, which accommodates the traditional complex of shops (Bazar) and essential physical elements of historical eras, such as the city's citadel. In addition to the high proportion of immigrants, it also includes deep-rooted and native families that have strong social relationships. Also, the average score for the neighborhood indices is slightly HIGHER than for the home indices. The average figure for all 26 indicators is lower than the assumed average score (3) and indicates a lower residential satisfaction. Five indicators with the HIGHER satisfaction score are as follows: relationship with neighbors, living in the ancestral neighborhood, the situation of streets and ways, living with relatives, and the quality of wastewater disposal. On the contrary, lower satisfaction scores belong to the indicators of ACCESS to shopping centers, healthcare service centers, the size of homes, and ACCESS to public transportation, respectively. Despite the fame of the gardens of Bojnord in previous centuries, in recent decades, most of the gardens disappeared, especially in the city's central business district, which corresponds to the two studied neighborhoods; there is a small area of land covered by parks and green spaces. Green spaces are mainly the small green strips on the edge or in the middle of the streets. For Amiriye and Pay-e Toop neighborhoods, the Pearson correlation coefficient between the respondents' EDUCATION levels and their scores of residential satisfaction are -0.36 and -0.23, respectively. It implies that residential satisfaction has an inverse relationship with EDUCATION. Also, the correlation coefficient between the residence length in the neighborhood and residential satisfaction scores are +.001 and -0.29, respectively (for Amirieh and Pay-e Toop neighborhoods). It also indicates no relation for the first neighborhood and an inverse relation for the other. The zoning map of all the indicators shows that in more than 90% of the neighborhood area, the level of satisfaction is in the medium range. In Amirieh, the parts with low satisfaction are scattered. It can be said that the northeastern edge of the Amirieh neighborhood and the southwestern edge of the Pay-e Toop neighborhood have lower satisfaction. ConclusionThe role of physical indicators in low satisfaction is much more significant than social indicators. The physical components of the neighborhoods caused a low level of satisfaction. On the contrary, HIGHER satisfaction is revealed from the socio-cultural components. Households prefer the quality of services more than the availability of services. In medium-sized cities such as Bojnoord, neighborhood relations, closeness to relatives, and living in neighborhoods where the ancestors lived are still decisive in creating residential satisfaction. To improve life satisfaction, paying attention to housing quality and the regeneration of both neighborhoods is necessary. Also, improvement, retrofitting, enhancing the quality of the building, and improving the quality of urban services, especially healthcare services, public transportation, and commercial services, should be considered. FundingThere is no funding support. Authors’ ContributionAuthors contributed EQUALly to the conceptualization and writing of the article. Abstract:

Brick is the most widely used construction material. Demolition of buildings and production of construction waste, including clay brick, are dramatically increasing in an alarming rate. The production of traditional bricks such as clay bricks has hazardous impacts on the environment, such as pollution and extensive use of natural resources. This study addressed the application of the geo-polymerization process as an environmental and sustainable method to produce new bricks from clay brick waste and different types of fillers. Accordingly, the powder and grains of clay brick waste, dune sand, washed sand, industrial sodium hydroxide, and water glass were utilized to prepare cubic and brick-shaped geopolymer samples with different mix designs and then cured at 70 °C. The samples' compressive strength, water absorption and SEM analysis were examined. According to the results, the highest compressive strength for cubic mortar samples was obtained in the case without filler; for these samples, with mass ratios of water glass to sodium hydroxide solution EQUAL to 1 and 2, compressive strength was 18.45 and 22.15 MPa, respectively. In the brick samples, the highest compressive strength was obtained in the 28-day and 8 M geopolymer samples, which was EQUAL to 25.38 MPa. On the other hand, the geopolymer samples made by sand filler had HIGHER compressive strength and lower water absorption in comparison to other samples. Therefore, sustainable production of geopolymer bricks from clay brick waste and inexpensive materials as the filler can be a step toward mitigating the environmental impact of construction and demolition waste.
